Delete your Effa data
Effa has no account, so there is nothing to sign in to or close. Your results live on your phone and, only if you turned on sharing, as anonymous records on our server. The app deletes both in a few taps.
In the app
- 1
Open Effa and go to Settings.
- 2
Under Data, tap Delete my data.
- 3
Confirm. Effa removes every result from your phone and from our server and shows All data deleted when it's done.
What is deleted
- Every check on your phone: thresholds, charts, history and tinnitus matches.
- Your profile (age, sex, tinnitus answers) and your settings.
- Every anonymous result shared from this installation, together with the anonymous installation ID on our server.
- The usage-statistics ID on your phone is reset.
What is kept
- Statistics computed from many checks, such as headphone correction profiles and age reference curves. They contain no individual's results.
- Crash reports (up to 90 days) and usage statistics (up to 14 months) held by Google Firebase. They never include hearing results.
If the server can't be reached
The data on your phone is deleted right away, and the app tells you if the server copy could not be removed. Once you're back online, tap Delete my data again to finish.
Already uninstalled the app?
Uninstalling removes everything on your phone, but results you had shared stay on our server under their anonymous installation ID. They carry no name, email or device identifier, so we usually can't match them to you. If you'd like us to try, email us at [email protected] with your phone model and roughly when you used Effa. Tip: tap Delete my data before uninstalling.
